Can Dark People Get Rosacea?

Yes!

Rosacea is a condition that is still a bit of a mystery to us. Rosacea can present on the face in various ways, and you may not even recognize that you have a touch of the condition. What isn’t mysterious to Melanopeel® is the fact that dark skin can also suffer from rosacea.

Darker persons can get rosacea:

This is a little known fact, but one that is a well recognized condition that we can improve. On dark skin, rosacea often presents as acne-like bumps, sensitive skin, and sometimes redness is evident. The skin may also be thicker, more rough, and more deeply pigmented in these areas. While it may be harder to diagnose rosacea on skin of color, it can occur. Read here for more about rosacea.

Rosacea in dark skin is now a well documented phenomenon.

With increased racial mixing, this is not surprising. Affected persons may notice that their skin easily reddens and stings after facial washing, or when using strong active ingredients.
